Hello Parents and Guardians,
Here are our plans for online learning. As you know your student is home for an undetermined time, currently we are scheduled for two weeks but that could change. Students were allowed to take home their CMS Chromebook and charger so that they may utilize digital learning while face to face classes are cancelled. Mrs. McKinley sent out a Parent Square Message yesterday with detailed information pertaining to this break. Here are the plans for Mrs. Jenkins ELA class.
Logging in on the CMS Chromebook From Home
o IXL: Daily IXL EOG Review assignments will be posted in My Google
Classroom. Students log into Google Classroom and IXL for many
teachers at school and are capable of doing so at home. Students are
expected to log in and work daily, Monday through Friday. These topics will all be skills we have been working on all year in class and are meant to be a review and are not new skills.
o Novel Reading: Students will be expected to continue reading their novel study novel “Two Roads”- Chapter assignments will be posted on Google Classroom daily.
o AOW: Students will receive one AOW in NewsELA per week as they have all year.
o My Google Classroom Codes: All assignments will be posted to Google Classroom daily for the next two weeks. All students have access to Google Classroom and most have already joined my classroom if they have not already joined they can log into it using the following codes:

•CONTACTING ME: Students and parents are welcome to contact me 8:30 –
4:30 pm for questions or concerns. I will be checking my email all though-out the
workday and you should expect a response within those hours. Students and
parents, as always, are welcome to contact me anytime with questions and
concerns and you should expect a response within 24 hours.
Throughout this health crisis, my hope for you and your family is that you are able to
stay steps ahead of any illness by continuing to take the state-wide and nation-wide.

- Students were sent home with their chrome books and chargers on Friday as we anticipated this happening. If they indicated that they had technology at home they did not receive their Chromebook.
